Q. What
do I need to do to get a website?
A. First, you'll need to get a domain name. Every website must
have one!
Second, You will need to have someone host your site and finally a
web designer who'll create the look and feel of the website you envisioned.
Q. What's a domain name?
A.
A domain name is a web site address that you choose. It's your unique address
on the internet. Domain names end in .com .ca .gov (There are many more
suffixes) They are often referred to as an URL (universal resource locator)
For example; The domain name for Glacier Design is "glacierdesign.ca".
Once you register your domain name - you own it for a certain period of
time. You can register your site for one year, two years and so on.
Q.
How do I register a Domain Name?
A.
First you will have to make
sure that the domain you want is available using something called a
"WHOIS"
lookup. You can make sure the domain you want is available for registration.
After you have found out the status of your domain you can either register
it yourself, or contact us
to do it for you.

What
information should my company's website contain?
A. A Web site
consists of many different web pages. Every web
site has a home page (often called the "index" page. The remainder
of the pages could include: About us, Contact us, Services, Products,
Photos, Awards, Testimonials, Portfolio, FAQ (frequently ask ed questions) similar to the
pages on Glacier Design. Some sites include feedback forms, polls, and/or
photos relating to your company's products.

Do you require
anything from me?
A.
Since you know your business
better than we do, we will require content, your logo, photos, brochures
or other promotional materials that identify your business.
Q. Do I have any say in what my
website looks like?
A. Absolutely, We want you to be pleased with your new website so your input is
definitely important. We will layout the design of your new site and upload it to our
server to be accessed via the internet where you can view its' progress in real time.
This method will be used throughout the design phase so you can monitor
progress being made at any time.
Q. How long will it take
to develop my site?
A. Depends on the complexity of the
site, however, most sites are up within two to four weeks. (from receiving
all the necessary content from our clients)
Q. How will people find my new website?
A.
We manually submit your site to the major
search engines and encourage you to put your World Wide Web address on
everything you possibly can, ie: Business cards, letterhead, brochures and all other

Q. Once
my initial design is completed, can you maintain the site?
A.
Absolutely, keeping a website up-to-date with fresh content is essential in
having repeat visitors to your site. Updating the site with text
changes, adding new photos or reciprocal links are all examples of
